My mother in law would like to find a family castle which her great-great-great-great grandmother wrote about in a letter in the 1800's. The name of the castle was wray castle. She specified that the castle was located 14 miles from Londonderry, Ireland, on Lake Windemere. I have been unable to locate any such lake, but I believe they were refering to the inlet on the north side of North Ireland. If you have any information about this site, please e-mail me!! My mother inlaw has a rare disease and would like to see the castle before she passes on. Any help is greatly appreciated!! |

Probably no interest now but there is a Wray Castle on Lake Windermere in theLake District in Northern England. There is a a web site www. .wraycastle. .com of the company who run courses there. I doubt though it was built in the 1800, looks late Victorian to me.

For a time it was a Radio Communications College training Radio Officers for the Merchant Navy (I was lucky enought o live in this place for 2 years)
