Kasteel Well is a quaint structure in Limburg. It is owned by Emerson College in Boston, Massachusett, USA. I recommend checking out the "study abroad" page of their website. It has many pictures (inside & outside) of the castle and it's gardens. It also has a short history. Kasteel Well is one of the most amazing places in the world. Luckily I spent 3 amazing months within its walls in 1995. |

I just returned from 3 months at Kasteel Well. It's a beautiful place in a tiny albeit nice town. The Kasteel's foundations date from the 12th century, the structure was built in the 16th century. Napoleon's brother, the eventually king, stayed there once, and they have a resident ghost named Sophie.
It's a great place. Definatly check out www. .emerson. .edu for pictures and whatnot. I am sure that if you emailed the director of the program they could get you some more information. Unfortunatly, tourists aren't allowed in, at least not while school is in session. |
