Around the time of the Battle of Hastings, the Legros family become very powerful. They owned many estates, possibly a castle, and was in control of an area called Gros in Normandy. I'm the Great-Great (etc...) granddaughter of the Legros family as I found out recently. My family would like to find out if we did in fact own territory in France or maybe England at some point, and what it's called. Can anyone help? We traced our line straight back to this specific Legros family, so it should definitley be accurate, if it helps we are supposedly in the Doomsday Book. I have no idea how to access it's inner contents.

I would realy like to know who was the first to build it, how it got it's name, and any other info that might help me. This is the first my family has herd of the caslte so were pretty much in the dark and know nothing. If any one has anything that would shine some light on this please e-mail me at almodovar7@juno. .com
